Forge Creek at Flowers Plantation is an active-adult neighborhood within the larger Flowers Plantation master-planned development in Clayton, North Carolina. Located approximately 25 minutes from downtown Raleigh, Forge Creek offers residents a low-maintenance lifestyle surrounded by the parks, trails, shopping, dining, and recreational amenities of Flowers Plantation.

Forge Creek is part of the broader Flowers Plantation development, which encompasses thousands of acres and includes numerous residential neighborhoods, recreational areas, trails, businesses, and community amenities. Its location provides convenient access to NC-42 and the surrounding Triangle, while Raleigh is approximately 25 miles away.

Homes and floor plans

Forge Creek consists primarily of single-family detached homes, with the original active-adult section developed by Elevate Homes, the active-adult division of Dan Ryan Builders. The community was developed with approximately 127 homes, with construction beginning around 2017.

Homes in the original Forge Creek section range from approximately 1,626 to nearly 3,000 square feet, with floor plans generally offering two to three bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and attached two-car garages. Homes were designed with features intended to provide comfortable, accessible first floor primary living.

Elevate Homes incorporated features such as 2x6 exterior walls, 10-foot ceiling plates, and abundant natural light. One of the more distinctive options was the Elevate Room, which allowed buyers to personalize a portion of the home for uses such as a pet shower, wine room, storage area, pocket office, or other specialized needs.

The Forge Creek HOA is managed by CAMS.

Amenities and lifestyle

Forge Creek doesn’t have its own separate amenity center. Rather, residents choose to join The YMCA at Flowers Plantation (for an additional fee) and access the larger community amenities - including a pool, a 6,000 sq ft fitness center, yoga studio, tennis courts, walking/biking trails, picnic areas, and green space.

The YMCA complex includes a fitness center with an indoor pool, fitness classes and training opportunities, meeting and gathering spaces, and a spa.

The community also features an outdoor Fit Park, which includes a Wi-Fi-enabled pavilion, outdoor fitness equipment, bocce ball courts, a fire pit, and separate small- and large-dog parks.

Outdoor recreation includes an outdoor pool and patio, tennis courts, pickleball courts, a basketball court, softball field, playground, picnic areas, and walking trails. The broader Flowers Plantation development provides approximately 10 miles of walking trails through parks and preserved natural areas.

The overall lifestyle is centered around fitness, recreation, social interaction, and low-maintenance living. With all of this, residents have numerous opportunities to participate in organized activities or simply socialize with neighbors.

Location and access

Forge Creek is situated within the larger Flowers Plantation development, giving residents access to a substantial collection of nearby services and conveniences. A Harris Teeter, CVS, Petco, Gas station, restaurants and shops are located adjacent to and within approximately a ½ mile of the community, making everyday shopping and errands particularly convenient.

Clayton provides a combination of suburban convenience and small-town character, while Raleigh and the greater Triangle are readily accessible. Downtown Raleigh is approximately 25 miles away, and Raleigh-Durham International Airport is approximately 37 miles from the community.

The surrounding area also provides numerous recreational opportunities, including golf courses, parks, walking trails, and the broader collection of amenities within Flowers Plantation.
